Elemental Microanalysis has a large range of ISO 9001 produced coal and coke reference materials:

• Sulfur only coals and cokes
• Proximate coals
• Green petroleum cokes
• Ultimate coals
• Mercury in coal

Each group offers a differing set of analysis values, a simplified summary is detailed above. 

Certified analysis values in addition to % CHNOS such as ash, volatile matter, fixed carbon, British thermal unit BTU/lb, mineral analysis, sulfur forms and ash fusion temperatures offer additional laboratory calibration versatility. Proximate coal, green petroleum coke and ultimate coal reference materials can be used in thermogravimetric (TGA) analysers and calorimeters as well as combustion elemental analysers, all at one great price.

The coal and coke reference materials are supplied as finely ground powders, tested to ASTM specifications and are metrologically traceable through calibration to a primary standard e.g. NIST SRM 2682c (some exceptions). This information is provided on the certificate of analysis as well as expanded uncertainty for the values certified.

These standards are predominantly secondary measurement standards (ISO guide 30).
